A delicious twist on the classic Sloppy Joes, using ground chicken and zesty Cajun flavors for a quick and satisfying weeknight meal.
Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken
2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
1 onion, diced
1 cup bell peppers, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup tomato sauce
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
4 sandwich buns
Optional toppings: shredded cheese, pickles, coleslaw
Instructions
- Sauté the diced onions and bell peppers in a splash of olive oil over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until softened.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground chicken, breaking it up, and cook until no longer pink, about 5-6 minutes.
- Stir in the Cajun seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, and brown sugar, mixing well.
- Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes.
- While simmering, toast the buns in a skillet or toaster.
- Assemble the filling onto the toasted buns, adding optional toppings as desired.
Notes
For a lower-carb option, you can serve the filling in lettuce wraps instead of buns.
