Description

Ingredients

1 cup low-moisture mozzarella cheese, cut into cubes or use mozzarella pearls

½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

¼ cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs (plain, Italian, or panko for extra crunch)

Salt and pepper, to taste

½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

Olive oil or cooking spray, for baking or frying


Instructions

  • Prepare your coating station: In separate bowls, place flour, beaten eggs, and a mixture of breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese. Stir in garlic powder and Italian seasoning if using.

  • Coat the mozzarella: Pat the cheese pieces dry. Toss each in flour, dip in egg, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture. For extra crispiness, repeat the egg and breadcrumb steps.

  • Chill: Place the coated bites on a tray and refrigerate for 20–25 minutes to set the coating.

  • Bake, fry, or air fry:

    • Bake: 400°F (200°C) for 8–10 minutes, turning halfway through.

    • Fry: Medium-high heat for 30–45 seconds per side, until golden.

    • Air Fry: 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes, shaking halfway.

  • Serve: Let cool slightly, then serve warm with marinara sauce, ranch, or your favorite dip.

Notes

To freeze before cooking, place coated bites on a baking sheet and freeze until firm. Store in a freezer bag for up to 2 months.

Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer to restore crispiness.

Avoid microwaving — it makes the coating soggy.
