2 tablespoons of tomato paste

2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning

Salt to taste

15 ounces of ricotta cheese

1 large egg

1/4 cup of fresh parsley, chopped

3 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese


Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat until shimmering. Add chopped onions and sauté for 4–5 minutes until soft and translucent.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until aromatic, then add ground beef and Italian sausage. Cook until browned, about 8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Pour in crushed tomatoes and tomato paste. Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer on low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
  • Combine ricotta cheese, egg, and chopped parsley in a bowl; stir gently until smooth.
  • Cook regular noodles in salted boiling water until al dente (8–10 minutes); drain and pat dry.
  • Spoon a ladle of sauce into the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish. Layer 4 noodles evenly on top.
  • Spread one-third of ricotta mixture over noodles, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella and Parmesan.
  • Cover cheese layer with one-third of meat sauce. Repeat layering two more times, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  • Cover the dish tightly with foil (tent to avoid cheese sticking) and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes until bubbly and browned on top.
  • Let the lasagna rest for 15 minutes before slicing to set layers nicely.
