Description

A visually stunning holiday appetizer made with flaky pastry, rich Camembert cheese, and tart cranberries, perfect for Christmas gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

1 sheet Puff Pastry

1 round Camembert Cheese

1/2 cup Cranberry Sauce

1 Egg (for wash)

1 tsp Fresh Rosemary (for garnish)

Flour (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out your puff pastry into a large triangle, about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Create a Christmas tree shape by cutting a large triangle and slicing the sides into smaller triangle ‘branches.’
  4. Spread a layer of cranberry sauce over the pastry tree, followed by slices of Camembert, leaving edges free.
  5. Gently fold each triangle side over the cheese, overlapping for a festive look.
  6. Whisk egg and water together, then brush the egg wash onto the pastry.
  7. Sprinkle fresh rosemary over the top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving warm with crackers or bread.

Notes

Ensure cheese is at room temperature for optimal melting. Experiment with different herbs for added flavors.
