Description
A visually stunning holiday appetizer made with flaky pastry, rich Camembert cheese, and tart cranberries, perfect for Christmas gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
1 sheet Puff Pastry
1 round Camembert Cheese
1/2 cup Cranberry Sauce
1 Egg (for wash)
1 tsp Fresh Rosemary (for garnish)
Flour (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out your puff pastry into a large triangle, about 1/8 inch thick.
- Create a Christmas tree shape by cutting a large triangle and slicing the sides into smaller triangle ‘branches.’
- Spread a layer of cranberry sauce over the pastry tree, followed by slices of Camembert, leaving edges free.
- Gently fold each triangle side over the cheese, overlapping for a festive look.
- Whisk egg and water together, then brush the egg wash onto the pastry.
- Sprinkle fresh rosemary over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving warm with crackers or bread.
Notes
Ensure cheese is at room temperature for optimal melting. Experiment with different herbs for added flavors.
