Description

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

1 tbsp ground ginger

1 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/4 tsp salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  3. Melt the butter over low heat in a medium saucepan.
  4. Stir in granulated and brown sugars until well-combined.
  5. Let cool slightly before adding eggs and whisking until thick and shiny.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  7. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  8. Fold in chocolate chips.
  9. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Cool in the dish for at least 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
