4 Stale or day-old English muffins, cut into quarters

8 Large eggs

2 cups Whole milk

8 oz Ham or Canadian bacon, diced

2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup Hollandaise sauce (homemade or packaged)

1/4 cup Fresh chives or parsley, chopped

Salt and pepper, to taste

A pinch of nutmeg (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut English muffins into quarters and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Layer ham over the bread, sprinkle cheese, and pour the egg mixture evenly over the entire dish. Allow to sit for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown and egg is set.
  6. Prepare hollandaise sauce, if making from scratch, or warm up a pre-made option.
  7. Let casserole cool for 5 minutes and drizzle with hollandaise sauce before serving.
