Scale
4 Stale or day-old English muffins, cut into quarters
8 Large eggs
2 cups Whole milk
8 oz Ham or Canadian bacon, diced
2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup Hollandaise sauce (homemade or packaged)
1/4 cup Fresh chives or parsley, chopped
Salt and pepper, to taste
A pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cut English muffins into quarters and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Layer ham over the bread, sprinkle cheese, and pour the egg mixture evenly over the entire dish. Allow to sit for 10-15 minutes.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown and egg is set.
- Prepare hollandaise sauce, if making from scratch, or warm up a pre-made option.
- Let casserole cool for 5 minutes and drizzle with hollandaise sauce before serving.
Notes
Allow the casserole to soak to prevent dry bread and keep an eye on cooking time to avoid rubbery eggs.
