Description
A delightful tart that transforms classic eggnog flavors into a luxurious dessert, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
- ½ cup Powdered Sugar
- ½ cup Unsalted Butter, melted and cooled
- 3 Large Egg Yolks
- 1 cup Whole Milk
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 1 cup Eggnog
- ½ teaspoon Nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and powdered sugar. Gradually add in the melted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press the dough into a tart pan evenly across the bottom and up the sides. Prick holes in the bottom with a fork and bake for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden. Cool completely.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the egg yolks, milk, heavy cream, and eggnog, stirring until the mixture thickens (5-7 minutes).
- Remove from heat and mix in the nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Allow to cool slightly.
- Pour the eggnog mixture into the cooled tart crust, spreading evenly and removing air bubbles by tapping the tart.
- Bake the filled tart for an additional 15 minutes or until the filling is set but jiggly in the center. Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Slice and serve with a sprinkle of nutmeg or whipped cream, if desired.
Notes
Consider making the tart crust a day in advance to save time. Dust with cocoa powder or add fresh berries for presentation.
