Description

A delightful tart that transforms classic eggnog flavors into a luxurious dessert, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ cup Powdered Sugar
  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter, melted and cooled
  • 3 Large Egg Yolks
  • 1 cup Whole Milk
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Eggnog
  • ½ teaspoon Nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and powdered sugar. Gradually add in the melted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Press the dough into a tart pan evenly across the bottom and up the sides. Prick holes in the bottom with a fork and bake for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden. Cool completely.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the egg yolks, milk, heavy cream, and eggnog, stirring until the mixture thickens (5-7 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat and mix in the nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Allow to cool slightly.
  5. Pour the eggnog mixture into the cooled tart crust, spreading evenly and removing air bubbles by tapping the tart.
  6. Bake the filled tart for an additional 15 minutes or until the filling is set but jiggly in the center. Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Slice and serve with a sprinkle of nutmeg or whipped cream, if desired.

Notes

Consider making the tart crust a day in advance to save time. Dust with cocoa powder or add fresh berries for presentation.
