2 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced

8 oz cream cheese

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

4 slices thick-cut bread

2 large eggs, beaten

1/4 cup whole milk

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare strawberries by washing, hulling, and slicing them into bite-sized pieces. Consider adding a tablespoon of sugar to enhance sweetness.
  2. Blend cream cheese until smooth. Mix in powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of cinnamon until fully combined.
  3. Spread cheesecake filling on one slice of bread, layer with sliced strawberries, and top with another bread slice. Repeat.
  4. Whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a shallow bowl to create the batter.
  5. Heat enough oil in a skillet to cover about 1/4 inch of the bottom over medium heat.
  6. Dip each sandwich into the egg-milk mixture, coating evenly, and fry in hot oil for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil and serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar.
