Instructions
- In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a tablespoon of sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Slice the strawberries thinly and gently fold them into the cream cheese mixture.
- Flatten each bread slice slightly using a rolling pin or your hands.
- Spread cream cheese and strawberry filling onto half of the bread slices. Top with remaining slices and press gently.
- Whisk together one egg and ¼ cup milk to create a light batter.
- Heat about 1 inch of oil in a deep skillet over medium heat to 350°F (175°C). Dip each sandwich in the egg batter, coating both sides evenly.
