Description
Delicious gluten-free pretzels that satisfy your cravings without sacrificing flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 cup warm water (around 110°F)
1 packet active dry yeast
1 tbsp sugar (or honey/coconut sugar)
2 tbsp baking soda
1 tbsp olive oil (or melted coconut oil)
Instructions
- Prepare the Yeast Mixture: In a small bowl, mix warm water, active dry yeast, and sugar. Allow this mixture to sit for about 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
- Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together gluten-free all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add the frothy yeast mixture, followed by olive oil, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 2 to 3 minutes until it becomes smooth.
- Shape the Pretzels: Divide the dough into equal portions—about 8 to 10 pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope, then shape into a pretzel.
- Boil the Pretzels: Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add baking soda. Boil each pretzel for about 30 seconds, turning halfway through.
- Bake the Pretzels: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place boiled pretzels on a parchment-lined baking sheet, sprinkle with coarse salt, and bake for about 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool and Serve: Let the pretzels cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before enjoying them warm.
