Description

Delicious grilled mushroom skewers, perfect for barbecues, using a mix of mushrooms and a flavorful marinade.

Ingredients

Scale

Mushrooms (button, cremini, portobello)

1/4 cup olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary)

Salt and pepper to taste

Wooden skewers (soaked in water)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mushrooms: Wipe each mushroom with a damp cloth to remove dirt.
  2. Create the Marinade: Combine olive oil, garlic, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, and herbs in a bowl.
  3. Marinate the Mushrooms: Toss the cleaned mushrooms in the marinade and let sit for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Skewer the Mushrooms: Thread marinated mushrooms onto soaked skewers, alternating types.
  5. Heat the Grill: Preheat grill to medium-high heat and oil the grates.
  6. Grill the Skewers: Grill for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Remove from grill, let rest briefly, and serve garnished with fresh herbs.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce. Feel free to experiment with different mushrooms.
