Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt, then mix into wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut shapes from the dough and place on baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Cool on sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks. Sprinkle with heart-shaped sprinkles if desired.
Notes
For a chewier texture, use more brown sugar and chill the dough before baking.
