Description

A creamy and decadent mousse combining the natural sweetness of Lebanese dates and the floral aroma of orange blossom, perfect for impressing guests.


Ingredients

1 cup Lebanese dates, pitted and chopped

1 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons orange blossom water

2 egg whites

1/4 cup sugar

1 teaspoon gelatin powder


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dates: Pit and chop the Lebanese dates into small pieces.
  2. Dissolve the Gelatin: Sprinkle gelatin over 2 tablespoons of cold water and let bloom for 5 minutes, then gently heat to dissolve.
  3. Whip the Cream: Whip heavy cream in a mixing bowl until stiff peaks form.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Whip egg whites until foamy, add sugar and beat to stiff peaks. Fold into whipped cream along with dates and gelatin.
  5. Add Orange Blossom Water: Pour in orange blossom water and fold gently.
  6. Chill the Mousse: Transfer to serving dishes and refrigerate for 1-2 hours to set.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Garnish with chopped dates or fresh orange zest if desired.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute heavy cream with whipped coconut cream and egg whites with aquafaba. Ensure proper chilling time for best texture.
