Ingredients

1 cup limoncello
1/4 cup water
2 cups mascarpone cheese
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Zest of 1 lemon
4 egg yolks
1 package ladyfingers (gluten-free if needed)
Cocoa powder (for dusting)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine limoncello and water; set aside.
- Whisk together mascarpone cheese, sugar, and lemon zest until smooth.
- In another bowl, beat egg yolks until light; combine with mascarpone mixture.
- Dip each ladyfinger briefly in the limoncello mixture and layer in a dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the ladyfingers.
- Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers and top with remaining mascarpone mixture.
- Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours, preferably overnight.
- Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and garnish if desired.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, substitute limoncello with lemon juice and zest. Ensure to soak ladyfingers lightly to maintain texture.
