  • Author: Nina Caldwell

  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This creamy, spicy, garlic butter steak pasta is the ultimate one-pot comfort meal — rich, flavorful, and ready in under 30 minutes. Tender steak bites, garlicky butter sauce, and a touch of heat come together for a restaurant-worthy dish you can whip up any night of the week. Perfect for busy evenings or an impressive dinner that looks and tastes like it took all day.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized cubes (juicy, flavorful base)

2 tbsp unsalted butter, divided (for searing and sauce)

4 cloves garlic, minced (for rich aroma)

½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste for heat)

2 cups beef broth (for depth and to cook pasta)

1 cup heavy cream (for silky smoothness)

½ lb penne or rotini pasta (cooks directly in the sauce)

½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (melts into creamy perfection)

Salt and black pepper, to taste (seasoning balance)

2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (fresh, herby finish)

Instructions

  • Sear the Steak:
Heat 1 tbsp butter and a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak cubes, season with salt and pepper, and sear for 1–2 minutes per side until browned. Remove from pan and set aside.

  • Make the Garlic Butter Base:
Reduce heat to medium. Add remaining butter, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Stir for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Build the Sauce:
Pour in beef broth and heavy cream, scraping up browned bits. Stir in pasta and bring to a gentle simmer.

  • Cook the Pasta:
Cover and simmer 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce has thickened.

  • Combine:
Add seared steak and Parmesan. Stir until the cheese melts and sauce coats the pasta. Adjust seasoning.

  • Finish & Serve:
Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Make it lighter: Swap heavy cream for half-and-half or evaporated milk.

Add veggies: Toss in spinach, mushrooms, or sun-dried tomatoes.

Storage: Keeps up to 3 days in the fridge. Reheat gently with a splash of cream.

Spice it up: Add more red pepper flakes or a touch of chili paste for extra heat.
