Ingredients

Scale

1 package Puff Pastry Sheets

1 cup Pesto

1 Egg (for wash) or Olive Oil

2 tbsp Sesame Seeds (optional)

Fresh Basil Leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Lightly flour your countertop and roll out the puff pastry sheets to about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Cut the pastry into triangles, aiming for 6-8 triangles per sheet.
  4. Spread a thin layer of pesto on each triangle, leaving about 1/2 inch clear at the bottom.
  5. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the pesto.
  6. Starting from the wide side, roll each triangle into a tree shape and pinch the ends to seal.
  7. Place the rolled trees upright on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Lightly coat each tree with egg wash or olive oil.
  9. If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve with marinara sauce for dipping or add a drizzle of balsamic glaze for extra flavor.
