Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese

2 cups powdered sugar

1 teaspoon peppermint extract

2 tablespoons milk

8 oz dark chocolate (or semisweet chocolate)

Candy canes (crushed, for decoration)


Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and powdered sugar. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add peppermint extract and milk to the mixture, and continue mixing until well incorporated.
  3. Scoop a tablespoon of the mixture, roll it into a ball, and place on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.
  5. While chilling, melt dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
  6. Dip each peppermint ball into the melted chocolate and return to the baking sheet.
  7. Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle with crushed candy canes, and chill again for 30 minutes to set.

Notes
