Description

Elevate your holiday treats with these visually stunning and delicious Santa Claus macarons, perfect for festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Gel food coloring (red and white)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon powdered cocoa (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients and measure them out for smoother preparation.
  2. Make the meringue by beating egg whites until foamy, then adding granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  3. Sift and fold in almond flour and powdered sugar into the meringue without deflating it.
  4. Separate the batter and add red gel food coloring to one part; leave the other white.
  5. Pipe small circles of batter onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Let the piped macarons rest at room temperature for 30-60 minutes until dry to the touch.
  7. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 12-15 minutes until tops are firm and they develop feet.
  8. Whip butter and heavy cream, then mix in powdered cocoa and vanilla extract for the filling.
  9. Assemble by pairing macarons with filling in between.
  10. Decorate for the Santa Claus look with melted white chocolate or cream.

Notes

Ensure egg whites reach stiff peaks and let the macarons rest properly before baking to avoid cracks.
