Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients: Wash and peel the Tennessee onions, and slice them thinly.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until it shimmers.
  3. Add the sliced Tennessee onions to the skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes until they begin to soften.
  4. Season with salt and black pepper, stirring continuously.
  5. Add in thyme or rosemary and cook for an additional minute.
  6. Drizzle in balsamic vinegar, stirring well, and allow the onions to caramelize for another 10 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and serve your perfectly sautéed Tennessee onions!
