  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (cold)
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 large Egg (for egg wash)
  • 1/2 cup Oats (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients and gather everything you need.
  2. Make the pie crust by mixing flour and salt, cutting in cold butter, and adding water until dough forms.
  3. Prepare the apple filling by peeling, coring, and slicing apples, then mixing with sugars, cinnamon, lemon juice, cornstarch, and salt.
  4. Roll out the dough and place it in the pie dish.
  5. Fill the crust with the apple mixture and dot with butter.
  6. Prepare the crumble topping by mixing oats, flour, brown sugar, and butter until crumbly, then spread it over the apples.
  7. Roll out the second dough disc, place it on top, seal the edges, and cut slits for steam.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 50-60 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Cool for at least an hour before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider making the crust a day before and refrigerating it.
