Ingredients

1 cup honey
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large egg whites
1 cup toasted almonds
Optional: Dark chocolate for dipping
1 tsp vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Prepare Your Ingredients: Measure out all ingredients and have them ready to go.
- Toast the Nuts: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C), toast the almonds for 8-10 minutes, then chop coarsely.
- Create the Sugar Syrup: Combine honey and sugar in a saucepan, cook until it reaches 240°F.
- Whip the Egg Whites: Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Combine the Mixtures: Gradually mix hot syrup into whipped egg whites and beat until shiny.
- Fold in Nuts and Flavorings: Gently mix in toasted almonds and vanilla extract.
- Set the Nougat: Pour into a parchment-lined baking dish, cool for at least 4 hours.
- Cut and Serve: Lift from dish, cut into squares, and dip in melted chocolate if desired.
