Description

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1–2 tablespoons rose water

Pink and white buttercream frosting


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until creamy and light.
  4. Add the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and rose water to the butter mixture; mix until well combined.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Spoon the batter into the lined cupcake pan, filling each liner two-thirds full.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Prepare buttercream frosting, adding pink food coloring to half.
  10. Once cooled, frost the cupcakes with a mixture of white and pink buttercream.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the batter to ensure fluffy cupcakes. Feel free to use almond extract or lemon zest instead of rose water if preferred.
