1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1–2 tablespoons rose water
Pink and white buttercream frosting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until creamy and light.
- Add the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and rose water to the butter mixture; mix until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Spoon the batter into the lined cupcake pan, filling each liner two-thirds full.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Prepare buttercream frosting, adding pink food coloring to half.
- Once cooled, frost the cupcakes with a mixture of white and pink buttercream.
Notes
Avoid overmixing the batter to ensure fluffy cupcakes. Feel free to use almond extract or lemon zest instead of rose water if preferred.
